Meteorites are natural objects that originate in outer space and remain after impacting the surface of the Earth. In layman's terms, it is a natural object that comes from anywhere in space and falls on the surface. There are many large and small objects drifting around in outer space of varying compositions, which are captured by the Earth's gravity as they pass over the Earth, at which point they travel through the Earth's atmosphere in a stage that can only be called a meteor. The vast majority of them are completely burned to ash before they reach the surface, and when they do, they take on the title of meteorite. Most meteorites come from the asteroid belt, with a few from the Moon and Mars.

The collected glass meteorite is a kind of dark green natural glass, weighing 977.4 grams, irregular shape, external fusion crust, external and under the fusion crust sometimes produces large gas marks, leaving traces of high temperature combustion due to friction when the meteorite falls through the atmosphere, and tiny air holes, as well as the stream lines and streams, with a beautiful texture, appearing mysterious and deep. The surface appears a large number of irregular grooves, fusion craters, bubble bursting after the residual shape, shiny and glossy, and ordinary common glass meteorite is not the same, ordinary glass meteorite is very brittle, hardness, texture is not strong, and this meteorite can be cut and polished, processed into various types of fine jewelry, the world is rare, rare, with a high value of the collection value and cultural and artistic appreciation value!

Glass meteorite in ancient China is called Leigong ink. Liu Xun in the Tang Dynasty, written by the geographic miscellany "Ling Table Recorded differences" recorded: "Leizhou after a sudden rain, people in the field to get the stone like warnings (yī) stone (black jade stone), called the Leigong ink, buckle the clank, the light is lovely." This is the earliest written records about glass meteorite. But Leigong ink is called ancient, early circulated in the folk along the Qiongzhou Strait, the source is not available, reflecting the working masses of the simple view of nature and magical imagination. Ancient people found that Leigong Ink mostly appeared on the sandy ground after thunderstorms, from which they inferred that it was formed when Leigong accidentally broke the ink blocks for writing thunder and lightning charms and orders and fell to the ground when he was creating electric flashes and thunders. Li Shizhen's medical masterpiece "Compendium of Materia Medica" of the Ming Dynasty recorded: "All thunder objects wear, tranquilize the spirit and fix the cure, treating the disease of shock and evil," believing that Leigong Ink has the attributes of a precious jade stone, with potential value in the field of healthcare. In the West, the original meaning of the Greek word for glass meteorite is "molten".

Meteorite, known as "foreign stone", its scientific research value is the main value. In addition, the rarity and non-renewability of meteorites determine the high value of the collection, become a human collection of treasures, especially in recent years, domestic and foreign gradually emerged a meteorite collection boom. In three or four years, not only the price of meteorite soared, domestic and foreign meteorite collection market is also taking shape.
