金申是中国当代颇具影响力的艺术家，在文博界、绘画领域均有深厚造诣 。他 1973 年考入内蒙古师范大学美术系，与刘大为、范扬师出同门 ，多年来投身国画艺术创作，还致力于普及传播佛教文物考古专业以及佛教美术史文化，举办个展 40 余次，作品被国内外 200 余家博物馆馆藏，上拍近 50 次，成交率高达 79% ，被誉为 “中国当代禅画第一人”，其作品熔古今中外技法于一炉，是古为今用、洋为中用的典范，在当代美术史上起到承前启后、继往开来的作用。

Jin Shen is a highly influential artist in contemporary China, with profound attainments in the fields of cultural heritage and painting. In 1973, he was admitted to the Department of Fine Arts at Inner Mongolia Normal University, studying under the same mentors as Liu Dawei and Fan Yang. Over the years, he has dedicated himself to the creation of traditional Chinese painting art, and is also committed to popularizing and spreading the professional knowledge of Buddhist cultural relics archaeology and the culture of Buddhist art history. He has held more than 40 solo exhibitions, and his works have been collected by over 200 museums at home and abroad. His works have been auctioned nearly 50 times with a transaction rate as high as 79%, and he is hailed as the "First Master of Chinese Contemporary Zen Painting". His works integrate techniques from ancient and modern times, as well as Chinese and foreign traditions, serving as a model of "making the past serve the present" and "making foreign things serve China", playing a pivotal role in connecting the past and the future in the history of contemporary art.

The "Three Masterpieces of the Jin Family" include *Laozi Departing from the Pass*, *The Mind Is the Buddha*, and *High Mountains and Flowing Water*, corresponding to Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian thoughts respectively. 《老子出关》

画面呈现：画中的老子，白发飘然，襟带倏然，稳如山岳，又似全无重量，身形缥缈却宛若眼前。老子衣纹以有力线条勾勒，洒脱大气，其骑于牛背，背景或有山峦等元素（结合传统 “老子出关” 题材与金申创作风格 ），整体营造出仙风道骨之感。

Visual Presentation: In the painting, Laozi is depicted with flowing white hair and fluttering robes, steady as a mountain yet seemingly weightless, his form ethereal yet vivid. His clothing patterns are outlined with forceful lines, free and grand. Riding on an ox, the background may include elements like mountain ranges (integrating the traditional theme of "Laozi Leaving the Pass" with Jin Shen's creative style), overall creating an aura of immortality and transcendence.

Originating from the classic Taoist story where Laozi rode a green ox west out of Hangu Pass, leaving the *Tao Te Ching* for posterity, this painting fully reveals the Taoist ideas of tranquility, inaction, and the natural operation of the Tao.
