雷峰塔，始建于北宋太平兴国二年（977年），为吴越忠懿王钱俶所建，初名“皇妃塔”，后因地处雷峰，改称“雷峰塔”。作为吴越国的标志性建筑，雷峰塔不仅具有军事防御等功能，更是佛教信仰的重要场所。藏经被藏于塔内，一方面是为了供奉佛法，祈求佛法庇佑，护佑一方平安；另一方面，也是当时佛教文化兴盛、信徒们对佛法虔诚尊崇的体现。这些藏经伴随着雷峰塔，历经岁月沧桑，见证了杭州乃至江南地区的历史变迁与佛教文化的传承发展。

Leifeng Pagoda was built in the second year of Taiping Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty (977 AD) by Qian Chu, the King of Wuyue. It was originally named "Huangfei Pagoda" and later renamed "Leifeng Pagoda" because it was located at Leifeng. As a landmark building of the Wuyue Kingdom, Leifeng Pagoda not only had functions such as military defense but also was an important place for Buddhist belief. The scriptures were stored in the pagoda.
