Tian Jilei, also known as Sanshi and the Master of Yiluozhai, was born in 1978 in Yanshi, Henan. This land steeped in the cultural heritage of thirteen ancient capitals laid a profound cultural foundation for his artistic journey. He graduated from the Fine Arts College of Luoyang Normal University and later pursued advanced studies in the Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, receiving systematic training in both traditional Chinese painting and modern art. As a specially invited calligrapher and painter of Rongbaozhai and a council member of the China Qi Baishi Art Research Association, he has inherited the vitality and freehand spirit of the Qi school while deeply mastering traditional landscape techniques. Over two decades, he has meticulously studied the works of masters such as Fan Kuan and Dong Qichang, forging an artistic style that embodies "tradition as the framework and modernity as the soul.".*Happiness at Its Peak: Landscape* is Tian Jili's most representative horizontal scroll landscape painting and a masterpiece of his *Red Mountains in Autumn* series. The creation of this work stems from his profound personal experience of the majestic northern landscapes, while also embodying the auspicious symbolism of traditional Chinese culture. 《鸿运当头山水》采用传统横幅山水画构图，巧妙融合 “高远、深远、平远” 三远法，构建出层次丰富、气势磅礴的山水空间。

画面中，主峰以苍劲的笔墨勾勒轮廓，厚重的皴法表现出山体的嶙峋质感，朱砂红层层积染，从山顶向山脚渐次过渡，既凸显了山峰的挺拔险峻，又营造出 “山高人为峰” 的雄浑气势。主峰作为画面的视觉核心，象征着 “背有靠山”，寓意事业根基稳固、人生有依，这也是传统风水画中 “稳坐江山” 的核心意象。

"Prosperity in the Landscape" employs the traditional horizontal landscape painting composition, skillfully integrating the three perspectives of "high distance, deep distance, and flat distance" to create a multi-layered and majestic spatial arrangement of mountains and waters.

In the painting, the main peak is outlined with vigorous brushstrokes, while the heavy textured strokes conveys the rugged texture of the mountain. Layers of vermilion red are applied, transitioning from the summit to the base, accentuating the towering and perilous grandeur of the peak while evoking the majestic aura of "the mountain is high, and man is the peak." As the visual focal point of the composition, the main peak symbolizes "having a reliable backer," signifying a solid foundation in career and life support, which also embodies the core imagery of "steadily holding the江山" (imperial realm) in traditional auspicious mountain paintings.

The misty clouds in the mountains are rendered in light ink washes, blending reality and illusion to separate and merge the layered peaks, creating a profound sense of "mountains beyond mountains, scenes beyond scenes." The deliberate negative space of the clouds avoids visual congestion while infusing the landscape with an ethereal, fairy-tale-like charm, echoing the auspicious symbolism of "purple qi from the east." Subtle glimpses of cottages and trees through the mist add touches of human warmth, embodying the philosophy of "harmony between man and nature," lending the grand mountainous expanse a tender, lived-in quality.

Below the painting, a shimmering stretch of azure water merges with the distant glow of the setting sun, creating a serene visual extension. The surface remains calm and undisturbed, embodying both the vitality of the mountain waterfall and the structure of a "treasure basin," symbolizing the gathering of wealth and endless prosperity. The rugged pines and crimson trees by the water's edge are scattered in an uneven pattern, echoing the red hues of the distant mountains. This arrangement lends the composition a sense of expansiveness and warmth amidst its grandeur, aligning with the traditional Chinese aesthetic pursuit of "harmonizing strength and grace.".

In *Favorable Fortune: Landscape*, Tian Jili combines vigorous and fluid brushwork. The rocks are rendered with a mix of axe-cut and hemp-pounding, featuring bold, dynamic strokes and interplay of dense and light ink tones, precisely capturing the texture and three-dimensional form of the mountains. The trees employ dotting and interlocking leaf techniques, appearing either upright and robust or sinuous and vigorous, with maple leaves outlined in vermilion and pine needles delicately sketched. Their varied postures yet harmonious unity evoke the thriving vitality of nature. The cascading waterfall is depicted through negative space and faint ink lines, its dynamic flow vividly alive—almost audible in its murmuring sound—imbuing the static landscape with kinetic energy.

Color is the soul of this artwork. Tian Jilei employs cinnabar red as the dominant hue, abandoning the understated elegance of traditional landscape paintings. He layers the intense crimson to depict mountains and red leaves, yet avoids monotonous flat washes by using the "layered color technique" to create variations in hue intensity and density: the red at the mountain peaks boasts the highest saturation, like molten cinnabar, fiery and vibrant; while the red at the foothills is softly diffused with diluted ink, translucent and warm. This stark contrast with the ink-drawn rocks and blue lake water not only avoids excessive garishness but enhances visual impact, allowing the composition to remain refined amidst its fervor.

The horizon is tinged with a warm yellow hue, complementing the crimson mountains in a harmonious interplay, as if the rising sun bathes the sky in a radiant glow. The cool tones of the blue lake and dark pine trees balance the intensity of the reds, creating a vibrant yet harmonious palette that aligns with the decorative aesthetics of modern homes and offices.
